Look Where Our Brochure Ended Up!

August 31st, 2010

For her summer holiday this year Louise, a Traffic Signals expert with Sanderson Associates, was a member of a support team for a charity coast to coast bike ride across Scotland.  This involved meeting the two cyclists at regular intervals, keeping them well fed and watered and being on hand in case of any medical/mechanical emergencies.

After a night in a hotel that time forgot in Fraserburgh (they were the only guests) they headed over to Inverness.  This was the longest day covering a distance of 100 miles which they polished off in 6 hours.  The second morning saw them Nessie spotting whilst travelling down the Great Glen (yes they did see her and have photographic proof below)

Nessie

In case a 70 mile bike ride to Fort William wasn’t enough of a challenge they (Louise included) headed off for an afternoon stroll up Ben Nevis – all 4,409ft of it.  When planning this trip Louise decided to take our Company brochure and get a photo of her at the highest point in the United Kingdom holding the brochure, however when they got to the top they were surrounded by thick fog and were getting battered with driving rain (in contrast to the hot sunshine in the valley bottom when they had set off) so the brochure stayed firmly tucked away in Louise’s rucksack.  A perfect photo opportunity arose on the way down when the weather improved and they passed through a section of path improvement works at approximately 2,500ft.  Photo below…

To complete the challenge a further 85 miles were covered on day three to Fionnphort on the Isle of Mull where two very tired cyclists were more than happy to see the sea!  After a couple of well earned pints after tea they collapsed into bed to start recovering from 255 miles by bike and 9 steep miles on foot!

Keep checking back to see where the brochure ends up next…
